Following a long day with Founders and Trustees in a meeting room signing a raft of paperwork, we left feeling like we really were a new company.
We had the collective energy often seen in a start-up, but with the advantage of over 20 years of heritage and experience.
Steps Toward a Better Future
Over the following months, we’ve worked to make everyone feel involved and part of their business.
We implemented new company Values, that drive our behaviours every day and underpin all aspects of our business operations.
We also formed our Employee Council, which seeks feedback from all staff on changes they’d like to see.
Recommendations were made to the Board which resulted in an enhanced staff benefits programme being launched in January 2024. As well as a commitment to donate working time to volunteering opportunities.
This demonstrates that, as a company, we are not only actively seeking feedback, but also listening and acting on it.
We are doing this to make sure ours is a better company for our employees and that we support our local community.
The EO Mindset
In November 2023, three members of the team attended the Employee Ownership Association (EOA) Conference in Liverpool.
These team members each represented their individual bodies, within our EO structure:
- The Board of Directors
- The Board of Trustees
- The Employee Council
It gave us an opportunity for us to hear about Employee Ownership in other organisations.
This allowed us to learn about areas they were working on and challenges they may be facing, so that we are able to implement these into our own strategies.
We left feeling proud of what we had achieved in the first nine months. And with plenty of ideas and inspiration for what else we could do in the future.
Working Closely with Associates
Key to our success this year has been our close working relationship with our Associates, enabling us to successfully deliver business-critical services to our customers.

Ready for What’s Ahead
As we now turn our attention to our second year, we look forward to establishing ourselves with a new brand, whilst retaining the same level of delivery excellence which has led us to be known and trusted by our customers for many years.
We will offer these skills and support capabilities to new customers in new sectors.
Knowing that, as employee owners, we are collectively committed to doing the best for our customers to solve their business challenges.
