It started with an innocent customer request.
Jane, one of our longstanding connections who is a Portfolio Manager for a major fixed and mobile network operator asked us:
“Can you look in your box of unicorns to help with this issue we’re having?”
At first, we were puzzled by the reference to unicorns. What was Jane talking about?
As it turns out, she was making a clever compliment about the staffing & talent of our delivery team.
Why ‘Unicorns’?
Unicorns have become a symbol in business for rare and valuable talent.
Just as unicorns themselves are the stuff of myth and imagination, exceptional employees with a rare blend of certain skills are almost hard to find in our industry as those mythical beasts and are highly coveted.
Jane was suggesting that Flint Technology Services (Flint TS) seems to have found a whole box full of these mythical creatures to help customers like her!
The comment made us smile, but it also contained a seed of truth.
Our team members possess an uncommon range of technical skills, paired with an unwavering commitment to customer service excellence.
And in the fast-paced, rapidly changing world of technology, staying ahead of the curve to meet customer needs does require constantly expanding one’s skills.

In a way, we are always searching for our next “unicorn” as we build a team that can keep up with whatever challenges arise for our customers.

So, while we may not quite have a magical box full of unicorns, we do have awesome teams of in-house and contracted experts with hard-to-find skills.

So, while we may not have any literal unicorns around here (that we know of!), we’re going to take Jane’s comment as high praise for the problem-solving wizards we have on staff.
Maybe we don’t have a box of unicorns.
